Need help? Take a look at some of our most Frequently Asked Questions.

Do I require an estimate from my moving company?

We can give you a ballpark quote over the phone , but to get an accurate one we would suggest a visit or face time survey.

Are you affiliated to any trade organisation that guarantee a quality service?

Yes, we are a member of the British Association of removals – the very best you can get.

How long have you been in business?

Since 1920 – but we cannot guarantee we have the same staff available as we had then 😊

How much does it cost to move?

The price will depend on several factors: for example, the access at collection and delivery point , the volume , the nature of the items , for example - Pianos , antique furniture , gilt mirrors.

How many floors , distance involved , materials required and packing if needed.

Can the movers place our items where we want at the delivery?

Yes, just instruct them as to where you need them to go.

When should I start planning my move?

4- 6 weeks prior to the move is ideal – however we can normally react at short notice.

Can you cope with a large move?

Of course, we have one of the largest removal fleets and staff base in East Kent . With now over a Century of experience , we can cope with a large range of removals always ensuring the most cost-efficient service is provided.

Is there any way of saving costs?

Preplanning and preparation are the key , get your costs in early and get as much done as you can possibly do yourselves – we can advise on that when we quote

Also, if you can be flexible about your moving dates this can also help in reducing costs.

How much notice must I give to book a date for packing or moving?

2 weeks is normally ideal – but as much as possible – it will all depend on how busy we are – normally the last week of the month is the busiest.

How do I arrange for an estimate for my forthcoming removal?

The easiest way is to call us between 07:30 and 17:00 , or email us on mail@mintersofdeal.co.uk or go onto our website and follow the enquiry questions and we will get back to you just as soon as possible.

Do I have to arrange parking through my local council / local authority, to obtain permits if necessary?

We can do this for you if you need us to , most councils need at least 2 weeks to arrange parking bay suspensions.

Do I have to leave space for the removal truck?

In some instances, yes - we can give you cones to put out the night before if you need.

Are your removal men properly trained and experienced to pack and move my possessions?

Yes, the staff are trained to the BAR standard with regular in-house refresher training programmes.

Can you disassemble and assemble furniture?

Yes, we can, but some furniture is never as stable once it has been dismantled and re assembled.

Do you un-plumb or plumb washing machines?

Yes, we can if the pipework is in good order.

Do Removal Companies Move Frozen Food? Do we have to empty our frozen food from the freezer at the time of our move, or will the removals firm be happy to move it?

If you are moving locally, frozen foodstuff can be okay to stay in the freezer , so your removals team should have no problem moving it. Make sure the movers know about it and the freezer is one of the last things that is loaded on to the removal vehicle so it can be offloaded first.

We can take out sash windows, but we would require a Glazier to remove glazed windows , we can remove doors and gates if required.
